My theories to explain uncertain or seemingly illogic events in DBZ

        1) WHERE DO THE SAIYA-JIN AND THE TSUFURU-JIN COME FROM?

AND WHAT IS THE EVOLUTION OF PLANET PLANT/VEGETA AND THE SAIYA-JIN AS SPACE WARRIORS?

As we see in the Special 4 about Bardock and Chilled, Planet Plant was originally inhabited by a different species than we saw before. The Tsufuru-jin are a different race that for some reason, at some point exchanged their own planet with Planet Plant with that species. The Tsufuru-jin then became the inhabitants of Planet Plant. At some point later on, the Saiya-jin, who were a very powerful, aggressive and savage race of beings, left their own planet in a spaceship (most likely an alien spaceship that landed on their planet and was fleeing to Planet Plant) and a large number of Saiya-jin invaded the spaceship before it set off their planet and killed the alien crew after that. When the spaceship arrived on Planet Plant, the Saiya-jin group became inhabitants of the planet together with the Tsufuru-jin. The Tsufuru-jin exchanged some of the fruits of their society with the species we see in Special 4 in exchange for their special healing liquid, a natural wonder that exists in Planet Plant. The Tsufuru-jin were a very advanced race scientifically and technologically, and when the Saiya-jin became co-inhabitants of Planet Plant with them they felt the need to develop a device that detected where they were and what their strength was. That device was the Scouter we all know of. After the Saiya-jin took over the planet and exterminated the Tsufuru-jin, they took profit of the Tsufuru-jin's technological advances, namely the Scouters. After Freeza offers the Saiya-jin to become members of his army due to their fighting strength, part of the deal was that the Saiya-jin share their own possessions with Freeza (and Cooler and King Cold as well), namely the Scouters. After the Saiya-jin took over the planet, King Vegeta became the ruler of the planet as he already was the leader of the race in the planet, and the Saiya-jin named the planet Vegeta. The species we see in Special 4 probably live in the planet originally inhabited by the Tsufuru-jin peacefully during the events of DBZ.

        2) EXPLAINING THE SUPER SAIYA-JIN PROCESSES, ITS VARIATIONS AND ITS SEVERAL STAGES

In order for a Saiya-jin to become a Super Saiya-jin, two things are needed: a certain amount of power (about 10.000) and intense anger. It is important to note that even if a Saiya-jin gets tired and loses Ki during a battle, if he (through anger or a very advanced control over his Super Saiya-jin state) becomes a Super Saiya-jin, his power becomes immediately as great as it can be in his Super Saiya-jin state (for example, Gokuh was tired from battling with Freeza when Freeza reappears after getting hit by the Genkidama, and Gokuh was far from being at his fullest in terms of Ki power, but once he goes Super Saiya-jin after Krillin's death he attains the fullest of his Super Saiya-jin power at that point, which is 12.500.000. It is very important to note that the Saiya-jin has the peculiarity of not being able to go beyond a certain point of Ki power unless they go Super Saiya-jin. The least strong a Super Saiya-jin can be is about 12.000.000. The strongest a non-Super Saiya-jin Saiya-jin can be is about 10.000.000. He cannot go beyond 10.000.000 unless he goes Super Saiya-jin, no matter how much he trains. Another important thing to note: training or fighting (hence developing) in the normal Saiya-jin state does not have a direct repercussion in the power of a Saiya-jin in his Super Saiya-jin state. For example, a Saiya-jin who has already attained the Super Saiya-jin state can train in his normal non-Super Saiya-jin state and increase his power level if it has not yet attained 10.000.000, but the amount of increase of his Saiya-jin state won't have a direct effect on his power level in his Super Saiya-jin state. It works the other way around as well. A Super Saiya-jin can train and get stronger in his Super Saiya-jin state, but that won't have a direct effect on his power level in his normal Saiya-jin form. Of course, it is impossible to supress one's Ki when one is in any Super Saiya-jin state, as the very fact of being in any of the SSJ states is appealing directly to one's Ki in its fullest - it is also impossible to supress one's Ki to any particular degree in any of the SSJ states the way it is possible for someone to supress their Ki to a certain point or altogether in non-Super Saiya-jin states. There are several levels of Super Saiya-jin: Super Saiya-jin, Super Saiya-jin Dai Ni Dankai, Super Saiya-jin Dai San Dankai, Super Saiya-jin Full Power, Super Saiya-jin 2, Super Saiya-jin 3 and Super Saiya-jin 4. Each of these states has its own limitations. For example, a Super Saiya-jin cannot be weaker than 12.000.000 and not stronger than 15.000.000 no matter what he does or how much he trains, unless he attains the next stage of SSJ, and the same rule applies to all other stages of SSJ. The restrictions are as follows:

Super Saiya-jin - 12.000.000 to 15.000.000 (Gokuh in Freeza and Android Sagas, Vegeta in the Androids Saga, Trunks in the Androids Saga, Mirai no Gohan in Special 2, Gohan in the Perfect Cell Saga. Bardock in Special 4, Goten in the Majin Buu Saga, Trunks in the Majin Buu Saga, Goku Jr. in the DBGT Special and Vegeta Jr. in DBGT)

Super Saiya-jin Dai Ni Dankai - 70.000.000 to 77.000.000 (Vegeta in the Perfect Cell Saga, Trunks in the Perfect Cell Saga and Gokuh in the Perfect Cell Saga)

Super Saiya-jin Dai San Dankai - 78.000.000 to 82.000.000 (Trunks in Perfect Cell Saga and Gokuh in the Time Room Chamber in the Perfect Cell Saga)

Super Saiya-jin Full Power - 85.000.000 to 88.000.000 (Gohan in the Cell Games Saga, Gokuh in the Cell Games Saga, the Legendary Super Saiya-jins of the past, Brolly in Movie 8, Brolly's clone in Movie 11 and Vegeta in the Babidi Saga)

Super Saiya-jin 2 - 225.000.000 to 280.000.000 (Gohan in the Cell Games Saga, Gokuh in the Babidi Saga, Vegeta in the Babidi Saga, Gotenks in the Fusion Saga, Gogeta in Movie 12 and Vegitto in the Fusion Saga)

Super Saiya-jin 3 - 435.000.000 to 450.000.000 (Gokuh in the Majin Buu Saga, Gotenks in the Fusion Saga, Vegeta in Special 5/Movie 14)

Super Saiya-jin 4 - 1.000.000.000 to 1.200.000.000 (Gokuh in DBGT, Vegeta in DBGT, Gogeta in DBGT)

* The Legendary Super Saiya-jin is a separate incident. He is a freak of nature and does not attain his SSJ state due to training or in a gradual development, but rather through an incontrolled, violent, savage abnormal explosion of power. This is the case of the previous (Legendary) Super Saiya-jin and of Brolly as well. It is very important to note that the restrictions to the SSJ levels mentioned before do NOT apply to the Legendary Super Saiya-jin. The Legendary Super Saiya-jin (one could refer to them as the real, original Super Saiya-jin of the legend) have a power level of about 95.000.000, they do not go through the different stages of SSJ, although they could probably go beyond that power level by attaining another, different stage or maybe even through training.

* The level that Gohan attains in the Fusion Saga, when he is referred to sometimes as Mystic Gohan, is a special level equal to that of Super Saiya-jin 3 in power but without having to transform into Super Saiya-jin 3. Basically, Rou Dai Kaioshin allowed him to attain the stage of Super Saiya-jin 3 but made it possible - through his special magical abilities - for Gohan to have that exact power without going though the actual physical transformation. This is the only time something like this happens in the series. Gohan could still turn SSJ, SSJ2 (and he actually does, both in DBGT and Special 5/Movie 14) or even SSJ3, but his power level even in his SSJ3 form would be no different, as his power as Mystic Gohan is already the power of his SSJ3 form.

* The "False Super Saiya-jin" stage is a stage where at some points the Saiya-jin has the power of a Super Saiya-jin but for some reason does not actually undergo the transformation completely. That is to say, when he is in this stage he is a Super Saiya-jin, but only momentarily - when he becomes "normal" again he is not able to freely go to the SSJ state again, he does not control it. The only time we see this "stage" is in DBZ Movie 4, when Gokuh fights Lord Slug.

* Gohan attained SSJ2 momentarily during the training he underwent in the Time Room Chamber with Gokuh, but could not attain it to a point where he could control it and go SSJ2 again freely when he wanted to. This is what happens to Gohan himself in the same training when trying to go Super Saiya-jin and to Trunks several times in the DBZ Special 2.

* Contrary to what happens in most other cases, the Super Saiya-jin cannot get weaker in any of their attained SSJ states even if they do not train or fight for a long time. Once they reach a certain stage of SSJ and a certain power level in any of those stages, it cannot go lower than that even if they wanted to. That is not the case of the normal Saiya-jin form, in which the Saiya-jin can lose a small amount of Ki if he doesn't train it or use it for a long time, just like what happens to beings of other races, namely humans.

* Vegeta has already attained SSJ2 in the Babidi Saga, having attained it during the 7-year interval between the Cell Games and the Babidi Sagas. However, his power level in the Babidi Saga is 250.000.000. Babidi manages to increase it to 280.000.000 by possessing his body. 280.000.000 is still within the limits of the SSJ2 state (equal to Gokuh SSJ2 at that time), so there is nothing extraordinary in Majin Vegeta when it comes to the SSJ stages. Babidi has the ability to increase the Ki of any fighter he controls to a certain extent, in some cases probably even beyond their races' physical limits.

* The Fusion technique and the Potara Earring Fusion do lead to some changes/exceptions in the rules and restrictions of the SSJ state(s). While the fusions have no effect on how strong Gotenks can become in his Super Saiya-jin, Super Saiya-jin 2 and Super Saiya-jin 3 states (his power is always within the normal limits of these stages mentioned before), Vegitto and Gogeta do become much stronger than the limits of a Super Saiya-jin 3 even without going Super Saiya-jin 3. This is an abnormal exception and is probably due to the fact tha Vegeta and Gokuh are so gifted and well-trained and experienced in managing their powers and their SSJ states that together they manage to attain power reserves in a SSJ2 form (Vegitto in the Fusion Saga and Gogeta in DBZ Movie 12) that goes far beyond the limits of the SSJ2 stage and even the SSJ3 stage. Probably they could go SSJ3 physically but that would not change their power (in a way, it is the same as Mystic Gohan, attaining a power level beyond the limits of their physical stage while actually not going through the physical transformation).

     * The Super Saiya-jin God stage, as addressed in this blog's post about the Super Saiya-jin stages, is not actually a Super Saiya-jin transformation, but rather a "Kaio-Ken-esque" power-up of the Saiya-jin race.

     3) WHAT IS THE SUPER SAIYA-JIN GOD STAGE? HOW DOES IT COMPARE TO THE OTHER SSJ STAGES? HOW CAN ONE ACHIEVE IT? IS IT AN ACTUAL SUCESSOR TO THE SUPER SAIYA-JIN 3 STAGE? AND HOW DOES IT COMPARE TO SSJ4?

Along with the Saiya-jin-only processes of becoming Oozaru and Super Saiya-jin, the new movie (Special 5) introduces a new process: the so-called "Super Saiya-jin God". There are new kinds of restrictions to this Saiya-jin transformation, which do not apply to the usual Super Saiya-jin stages, and vice-versa. The process works like this: when a Saiya-jin receives the energy of 6
other Saiya-jins a physical reaction is triggered, leading to a physical transformation and power enhancement. In a non-Super Saiya-jin Saiya-jin, the power is increased twenty-fold. The Saiya-jin who - inadvertently - drew the energy of other 6 Saiya-jins in Planet Vegeta, in a desperate attempt to halt a few Saiya-jin who were causing too much trouble, had a power level of 2.000. Hence, his power after the Super Saiya-jin God process became 40.000. However, the form's energy consumption and drain is too great and it can only be mantained for a short period of time. It depends on the Saiya-jin's skill and willpower to "learn" the stage and master it to use it whenever he pleases, without having to draw the energy of 6 pure-hearted Saiya-jins.
How, then, does the process apply to Super Saiya-jins, namely Gokuh, Vegeta, Gohan and the others, who have attained several increasing stages of Super Saiya-jin and whose power is in a completely different league than that of the Saiya-jin who went through the process on Planet Vegeta?
Assuming that the Super Saiya-jin God process (drawing the energy of 6 pure-hearted Saiya-jin) does not increase a Super Saiya-jin's power twenty-fold (because that would make especially Gokuh, Vegeta and Gohan unmeasurably powerful), we need to make the assumption that there is a power increase, but not that dramatically.

The following is my estimate of how much a Saiya-jin's power increases when going through the SSJ God process (based on my idea that undergoing the Super Saiya-jin God process only increased the Saiya-jin's power by a double as soon as he by himself reaches any level of the Super Saiya-jin states):
Normal state 2.000 - twenty-fold = 40.000
Normal state 10.000 - twenty-fold = 200.000
Normal state 18.000 - twenty-fold = 360.000
Normal state 100.000 - twenty-fold = 2.000.000
Normal state 300.000 - twenty-fold = 6.000.000
Normal state 900.000 - twenty-fold = 18.000.000 (maybe this could unlock an actual Super Saiya-jin transformation, as the resulting power
surpasses a Super Saiya-jin's power (which has a maximum of 14.000.000)
Normal state 9.000.000 - twenty-fold = 180.000.000 (the latter applies to this too)
Super Saiya-jin 12.200.000 to 14.000.000 - double = Around 30.000.00
Super Saiya-jin Dai Ni Dankai 70.000.000 to 78.000.000 - double = Around 160.000.000
Super Saiya-jin Dai San Dankai 78.000.000 to 82.000.000 - double = Around 160.000.000
Super Saiya-jin Full Power 85.000.000 to 88.000.000 - double = Around 180.000.000
Super Saiya-jin 2 215.000.000 to 280.000.000 - double = Around 560.000.000 or 600.000.000
Super Saiya-jin 3 435.000.000 to 450.000.000 - double = Around 1.000.000.000 (seen in Special 5)

It should be noted that the Super Saiya-jin God is a Saiya-jin-only process and it is an actual physical process, just like Oozaru and Super Saiya-jin. It is not a movie-only happening, it is rather a process that involves an actual physical cause and consequence, which the original Saiya-jin in Planet Vegeta mentioned in the Special 5 did not know about, but some beings
in the Universe do (like Shenron, and others). The original Saiya-jin who decades ago went through the process did not purposedly go through the steps to achieve "Super Saiya-jin God" - it was rather a desperate attempt to get more power which inadvertently resulted in him undergoing the Super Saiya-jin God process (by drawing the energy of at least 6 other pure-hearted Saiya-jin).

Based on these assumptions, we really cannot put "Super Saiya-jin God" in the same league of the other Super Saiya-jin stages (Super Saiya-jin, Super Saiya-jin Dai Ni Dankai, Super Saiya-jin Dai San Dankai, Super Saiya-jin Full Power, Super Saiya-jin 2, Super Saiya-jin 3), because it does not have stage-specific power limitations and restrictions like the other SSJ stages do (the power does not have to be between a certain level and another level). In fact, Super Saiya-jin 4 could be considered to be much more in touch with the growing, step-by-step evolution of the different SSJ stages than Super Saiya-jin God, as the Saiya-jin's Super Saiya-jin God's power depends on his original, normal power, and a Saiya-jin who underwent the transformation could (and did) end up having a power level of something like 40.000, because his normal power-level is in the league of 2.000.
These figures are ridiculous when compared to the kind of power level even the weakest, first Super Saiya-jin form provides (12.200.000 as a minimum and 14.000.000 as a maximum).
It is my belief and conclusion that this transformation is much more comparable to a Kaio-Ken-like power-up than a(ny) SSJ transformation.
The fact that in Special 5 Gokuh has such a tremendous strength (1.000.000.000), enough to battle Bills (700.000.000), is only due to the fact that Gokuh by himself is already tremendously strong (450.000.000 as his maximum, in SSJ3 state) - based on my estimates, his (maximum, SSJ3) power increased by roughly a double when undergoing the Super Saiya-jin God process
(450.000.000 normal state - 1.000.000.000 after SSJ God power-up). If it was Gohan, who has the same power-level as Gokuh (450.000.000), the resulting power-level would be the same. If it was Vegeta (280.000.000), his power-level would be in the order of 560.000.000 (a double).

In Special 5, due to Gokuh's ability and skill, he learns how to achieve the SSJ God state at will after the first time.

It is irrelevant if the Saiya-jin is physically transformed into any Super Saiya-jin state when undergoing the SSJ God process - the result is always the same, as the process draws on the Saiya-jin's maximum power (in Gokuh's case in Special 5, even though he goes through the process when he is in his normal non-SSJ state, the process draws on his inner maximum potential SSJ3 state). If Gokuh or any other Saiya-jin underwent the SSJ God process when physically transformed into any SSJ state, his physical appearance would not change (he would retain his SSJ-specific physical characteristics), the only difference being his reddish, flame-like aura).

It should also be noted that the power of the 6 Saiya-jins from whom a Saiya-jin draws power to achieve the SSJ God form is irrelevant - the real key is that they are Saiya-jin and they are pure-hearted. Their actual individual power has no effect, they could either be a normal Saiya-jin with a power of 1.500 or a Saiya-jin with a power-level of 450.000.000.

I also believe that it would be irrelevant to draw the energy of more than 6 pure-hearted Saiya-jins. If it was 7, or 8, or 20, it would not make any difference. However, it has to be at least 6. 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 does not trigger the physical reaction in the Saiya-jin - only 6 or above does.

As an endnote, I would consider the Super Saiya-jin God as not being an actual successor to Super Saiya-jin 3, but rather a "Kaio-ken-esque" power-up, with the restrictions I mentioned before. As far as Super Saiya-jin stages go, I still choose to state that Super Saiya-jin 3 is the last actual SSJ stage that follows the rigid trend of the SSJ transformations (each SSJ state has to be within a certain power limit, and to go further a Saiya-jin has to reach the next level of SSJ).

      4) THE LEGEND OF THE SUPER SAIYA-JIN / THE PROCESSES OF THE GOLDEN OOZARU AND THE SUPER SAIYA-JIN 4

The Saiya-jin race "produces" a Super Saiya-jin about once every 1000 years on average. The Saiya-jin of many centuries before the events of DBZ, who were even more aggressive and savage and still not under the control of Freeza, were strong warriors but not as strong as the ones in the events we know in the series. The Super Saiya-jin of the past were a freak "accident", a Saiya-jin with an enormous power that would eventually become Super Saiya-jin, but not in the same way Gokuh and the others do in the series we know. The first Legendary Super Saiya-jin would turn Super Saiya-jin by becoming a Golden Oozaru (there is no change in the power, their body just becomes larger). The reason why they became Golden Oozaru instead of just turning golden is because back in their days they were much more aggressive and did not have much control of their senses. It has nothing to do with having a tail or not. The reason why I say it has nothing to do with having a tail or not is seen in Special 4, where Bardock has a tail and when he goes Super Saiya-jin he does not become Golden Oozaru. He does not go Golden Oozaru because he is a more "modern" Saiya-jin, who has a better control over his emotions and instincts. Then why does Gokuh turn Golden Oozaru in DBGT? Well, a Saiya-jin can become an Oozaru or Golden Oozaru for two reasons: one is by receiving the Blutz waves in their eyes while having their tails, and the other is by turning Super Saiya-jin back in the old days, like I explained before. The reason why Gokuh turns Golden Oozaru in DBGT is obviously because he receives Blutz waves while having a tail on. Like I said before as well, the power of a particular Golden Oozaru is not greater or different than that of his normal/humanoid-size Super Saiya-jin state. Therefore, Gokuh's power as Golden Oozaru in DBGT does not increase just because he became Golden Oozaru. However, being an Oozaru (or a Golden Oozaru, in this case) triggers a reaction in the Saiya-jin body that can lead to an usual transformation if the Saiya-jin case has enormous power (like Gokuh and Vegeta have in DBGT). That unusual reaction is what leads them to become Super Saiya-jin 4, after they somewhat control their Oozaru state. Vegeta was able to control his (Golden) Oozaru state immediately in DBGT, unlike Gokuh, something he could do already in the Saiya-jin Saga. Can any Saiya-jin become immediately a Super Saiya-jin 4 when they become Oozaru or Golden Oozaru, then? Of course not. Like I explained before, not only the special reaction has to occur, but the Saiya-jin has to possess an enormous power level, in the level of Gokuh and Vegeta in DBGT (I would say at least the power of a SSJ2, like Vegeta), which is far, far greater than the kind of power the normal Saiya-jin have. The fact that Vegeta became a SSJ4 due to this special transformation and hence "skipped" Super Saiya-jin 3 doesn't make it so that it doesn't make sense, but is an "uncomfortable" fact that DBGT brought to us (along with many, many other uncomfortable events and facts). This can all be scrapped as DBGT officially did not happen, hence the Super Saiya-jin 4 we see there never existed anyway. The true next level of Super Saiya-jin 3 is Super Saiya-jin God (which is achieved in a somewhat similar way to Super Saiya-jin 4). Special 5/Movie 14, with the introduction of the Super Saiya-jin God state, as well as the featuring of Vegeta in Super Saiya-jin 3 form, sets everything right again (fnally). One final note: after the Saiya-jin first reaches the Super Saiya-jin 4 form, he can then achieve it without going through the process of turning Golden Oozaru first. It is unknown if the Super Saiya-jin 4 state could be achieved by any other means other than by going through the process we see in DBGT (being a SSJ2 or SSJ3, becoming Golden Oozaru, gaining consciousness and control over the state and then going SSJ4), but I suspect it would eventually be possible, much like it was possible for Gokuh to turn Super Saiya-jin God as the next step immediately beyond Super Saiya-jin 3.

     5) WHY ARE SAIYA-JIN RANKED AS LOW-CLASS OR ELITE, WHEN IT BECOMES CLEAR THAT THE POWER OF A SO-CALLED LOW-CLASS WARRIOR CAN OVERCOME THAT OF AN ELITE?

The ranks given to each Saiya-jin are more based on their "social" status than on their fighting power. Originally, it was based on fighting power, but as time went on it became clear that if a member of a so-called low-class descendancy of Saiya-jin trained and fought enough, his power level increased to just as much or even beyond the power of a so-called elite Saiya-jin. Examples of so-called low-class Saiya-jin are: Bardock (10.000), Gokuh, Raditz (1.200), Toma, Turles (eventually 30.000), Paragas and even Brolly (his "social" status is weak because he is the son of a so-called low-class warrior, Paragas, although he is the next Legendary Super Saiya-jin). Examples of so-called elite Saiya-jin are: King Vegeta (13.000), Vegeta (5.000 when he is 5 years old and 18.000 when he fights Gokuh for the first time) and Nappa (4.000).

    6) WHY DOES THE SAIYA-JIN TAIL REGROW IN GOHAN TWICE AND THEN IT NEVER REGROWS AGAIN?

It regrows just like it regrows unexpectedly at any time in a Saiya-jin. The only Saiya-jin who can have their tails regrow are child or adolescent ones. The reason why Gohan's tail never regrows, nor does Goten's or Trunks', is because it just never happens, except in the movies. It is a completely random process that can happen any time or not at all.

      7) DOES THE SUPER NAMEK STATE COMPARE DIRECTLY TO THE SUPER SAIYA-JIN STATE?

No. The Super Saiya-jin state(s) are very well delimited and explained as specific stages that produce different restrictions and possibilities. The "Super Namek" state is not a real transformation, it does not produce a physical transformation and is not a defined change in a Namek's ability or characteristics. Lord Slug and Piccolo have been called Super Nameks simply because they had fighting powers much larger than that of a normal Namek. The normal warrior-type Namek has a fighting power of about 3.000. Piccolo manages to attain 800.000 when fighting Freeza, 6.000.000 in the Android Saga, 30.000.000 in the Imperfect Cell Saga and 50.000.000 in the Cell Games Saga, while Lord Slug has a Ki of about 500.000 when he comes to Earth in DBZ Movie 4. Even Nail could be called a "Super Namek", since his power level is 42.000, far beyond the normal 3.000 Ki of the usual warrior-type Nameks.

8) WHY ARE THERE 12 UNIVERSES AND WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR THE UNIVERSE WE ALL KNOW OF, IN WHICH ALL THE EVENTS IN DB AND DBZ OCCUR?
There are multiple Universes in Dragonball Z, the one we know of being just one of those 12. The other Universes may be possible to have access to somehow, and they should be seen not only as different dimensions (like King Enma's place, Hell, Heaven, the Kaiou-sama's planets, the Kaioshin sacred land, the dark demonic dimension and Bills' temple), but rather as parallel universes much like the actual real-life theory proposes. The events, characteristics, size, life-forms and the power of fighters and beings in the other 11 Universes is unknown, but it is expectable that there are powerful warriors and deities there, but let's ignore the other Universes and their potential fighters and implications for "our" Universe for now.

      9) WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A WARRIOR-TYPE NAMEK AND THE OTHER TYPE OF NAMEKS?

A warrior-type Namek (Piccolo, Nail, Lord Slug) has the ability to regenerate lost limbs as long as their head is intact, extend his limbs, grow into a huge height and has a higher power level than the other Nameks. The other type of Nameks (Dende, Saichiorou-sama, Kami, Katatsu, Carugo, Piccolo Daimao, Muuri) do not possess a great fighting power and do not have the ability to extend their limbs or their whole body, and they do not have the ability to regenerate lost limbs, but they do have the ability to produce children by throwing eggs from their mouths when they reach a certain age, and some of them, like Dende, are so gifted that they can heal injuries as long as the person being healed is alive and even create Dragons and Dragon Balls, or inherit the control over Dragons and Dragon Balls created by other non-warrior-type Nameks. Warrior-type Nameks cannot produce children, heal injuries or create Dragons. Warrior-type Nameks also attain their physically adult state much sooner than the other type of Nameks (indeed, a warrior-type Namek attains adult stage in 3 years after being born, while the others, like Dende, take more or less the same time a human does to attain his physically adult state). So, actually, although Piccolo Daimao and Kami are considered to be very strong when they appear in DB (and they are, for human standards), they are actually non-warrior-type Nameks. Piccolo Daimao's main offspring, Piccolo, is born as a warrior-type Namek, though.

      10) WHY DO THE SCOUTERS BLOW UP SOMETIMES AND OTHER TIMES THEY DON'T?

Scouters measure the Ki of living beings based on special technology developed by the scientifically advanced Tsufuru-jin. However, when actively measuring someone's strength when it is rising, the Scouter can blow up. There are two types of Scouters, the less-advanced one, created by the Tsufuru-jin and worn by Raditz, Vegeta, Nappa, Bardock, Zarbon, Dodoria or Cui, and the more advanced type, worn by the Ginyu Tokusentai, which was an advancement towards the older original model made by Freeza's scientific team. No Scouter will blow up measuring any Ki no matter how high the number is,

but if the measuring takes place when the Ki is actively rising, the first type of Scouters will blow up when the Ki reaches about 22.500 (seen when Bulma's Scouter blows up measuring Gokuh's Kaio-Ken x3 strength when he fights Vegeta in DBZ Episode 30 and when Cui's and Zarbon's Scouters blow up when measuring Vegeta's increasing strength in DBZ Episode 45), while the second type of Scouters blows up when the increasing Ki reaches about 300.000 (seen when Freeza's Scouter blows up when measuring Vegeta's rising Ki in DBZ Episode 77 and when Sauzaa's Scouter blows up when measuring Gokuh's rising strenght in DBZ Movie 5).

     11) WHY DO SOME PEOPLE KEEP THEIR BODIES AFTER THEY DIE WHILE OTHERS DON'T? HOW DOES THAT WORK?

Most good souls of the living conscious (and only the conscious ones) beings that physically die are separated from their bodies and go to King Enma's place as the sort of ghosts we see in the series. There are some exceptions, though, and those are defined by King Enma, although probably the Kaiou and/or the Kaioshin could  also intervene or change King Enma's decisions in that regard. The exceptions are due to a special ability to fighting or a special circumstance in which a certain person's body is needed. That's the case of Gokuh, Tenshinhan, Piccoro, Yamcha, Chaozu, Pikkon, etc. What about the evil souls? Those are also allowed to keep their bodies so they can suffer more in Hell (like Freeza, Cell, Nappa, Raditz, Dr. Gero, etc.). Then there is a third group of souls: the people who die having quite a large amount of evil in their souls but have good prospects of becoming good and already have a lot of good in them as well. Those, when they perish physically, go to a special place between Enma's place and Hell where their souls will be cleansed by a special machine that has been in existence forever (the machine we see in DBZ Movie 12 about Janenba).

      12) WHY DO PEOPLE KILLED BY THE MAZOKU NOT GO TO HEAVEN OR KING ENMA'S PLACE?

First of all, the "Mazoku" is not a specific race, but rather a definition or name given to people who have a special kind of evil in their souls, like Piccolo Daimao, Bojack, Dabla or Garlic Jr. Majin Buu, even in his original, evil form - Kid Buu - does not have this special type of evil, but rather a magical, pure evil of its own kind. Mazoku have a type of evil in their hearts such that it interferes with their natural destination to King Enma's place, being instead sent to a different dimension that is not under the control of King Enma, where they will keep their bodies, will not be judged and will not be able to leave that place unless they are brought back to life.

     13) WHY DO PICCOLO DAIMAO AND LORD SLUG PRODUCE PHYSICALLY DIFFERENT OFFSPRINGS THAN THE OTHER NAMEKS WHO CAN HAVE CHILDREN?

Piccolo Daimao and Lord Slug are both special Nameks, because they underwent special processes that went along with their Namek heritage and characteristics. Their evil souls have "rotten" their natural characteristics to a certain extent, and their physical abilities and traits have gone in a different direction that what would be expected. However, Lord Slug is a warrior-type Namek, so he cannot produce children, actually. Piccolo Daimao can because he is actually a non-warrior-type Namek. Because of the "rotten" process mentioned before, Piccolo Daimao's children are not exactly Nameks, but rather reptilian or dinossaur-like creatures, but all of them are considered to be his children and maybe even "Nameks" in their own right. Piccolo Daimao's physical characteristics have suffered such a great variation from the normal Namek evolution that he does even eat special kinds of food, although he does not need to. Remember that Nameks only drink water. The only "normal" Namek Piccolo Daimao produces as an offspring is Piccolo, who has Piccolo Daimao's life essence and memories, and therefore could be called a "reincarnation" of Piccolo Daimao.

      14) HOW DOES THE PROCESS OF MASKING ONE'S KI OR LOWERING IT WORK?

First of all it should be noted that we must distinguish between martial arts and Ki power and control. Every being has Ki, it is up to them to develop it through training or not. A normal human being, for example, has a Ki of about 5. Yamcha and Tenshinhan, for example, are very gifted martial artists, perhaps more so than other super-strong characters in the series, but their Ki is much smaller because they are humans and have much more limitations than other races. Now, the reason why sometimes the Scouters detect some presences and sometimes they don't is because they can be set to alarm their user depending on the user's definitions (for example, a Scouter can be set to alarm only when it detects a power of over 5.000, or 10.000, or even 10, or any number; additionally, it can be set up to alarm when a certain power level or any power level is at a certain distance). Leaving the Scouters explained, we are left with the ability of detecting Ki by one's ability to sense their surroundings. Any conscious being can do this - again, it is up to them to develop it or not, and some are more gifted than others. It helps to be a martial artist, of course, since fighters are used to developing their senses and controlling them - this helps and is a big step towards being able to detect Ki around them. For example, when Krilling and Gohan supress their Ki in Namek in DBZ Episode 46 they are using only their martial artist skills to go and jump from island to island fast without increasing their Ki. In order to use all the Ki one has, obviously one has to stop suppressing it. The ability to supress one's Ki is a very useful skill that was developed on Earth by Earth's warriors and on Namek by warrior-type Nameks, probably because of the already mentioned martial artist knowledge, as opposed to other, more gifted and powerful alien races, who are so powerful that rely on Ki control and usage from the start, ignoring the usefulness or possibility of suppressing one's Ki to a certain degree or even to 0 (disappearing). Later on, Vegeta notices the usefulness of this skill and develops it himself, being a gifted individual. The sensing of Ki was first introduced in the series by Popo and Kami. Also, the bigger a Ki is, the farther away it can be detected, as it works like a wave of invisible energy that propagates through space and becomes fainter and fainter the more it widens. The reason why Krillin and the others seem to detect Gokuh only when he turns SSJ in DBZ Episode 127 is not because they couldn’t find his Ki before (Gokuh had to be putting out his Ki for flying and besides there was no reason for him to suppress it to 0), so, being so close-by, Krillin, Gohan and Yamcha weren’t just concentrating on sensing Gokuh’s Ki until – incidentally – the moment he turns SSJ (it is just a coincidence). Higher levels of Ki were also used by characters even during DB, like Gokuh, Tenshinhan, Muten Roshi and so many others, although they did not know back then that such energy (Ki) could be detected. So, at that point, and obviously later on, not only were these DB characters extremely gifted martial artists, they were also able to use their abnormally high Ki for launching energy/Ki attacks/projectiles. Ki, and the control of Ki, is also the basis for the technique of Bukujutsu (flying) that the Tsuru-sennin developed and taught to Tenshinhan and Chaozu in DB (which was later developed by Krillin, Tenshinhan and Gokuh still in DB). Before learning to use Ki to perform Bukujutsu (and literally fly), fighters in DB could move and stay in mid-air to some degree performing special blows, like we see Gokuh doing when he first defeats King Chapa or when he is flying down to the ground in DB Episode 101.

      15) HOW DOES THE KAIO-KEN WORK?

The Kaio-Ken is a special technique whose control allows one to magnify their Ki and senses beyond what should be normal for their current state. The only one in the series who masters this technique (at least fully) is Gokuh. Knowing Gokuh's power level when he fights Nappa and Vegeta is 8.000, performing Kaio-Ken x1 will increase it to 12.000, Kaio-Ken x2 will increase it to 16.000, Kaio-Ken x3 to 24.000 and Kaio-Ken x4 to 32.000. In that point, Gokuh cannot go beyond Kaio-Ken x4. In the Ginyu and Freeza Sagas, he is able not only to increase his normal power level greatly, but also to attain and withstand much higher levels of Kaio-Ken. Against Ginyu, he still cannot go beyond Kaio-Ken x4 (his power level being 60.000, he could become as strong as 240.000), but when fighting Freeza he tries and goes up to Kaio-Ken x10 and even Kaio-Ken x20. In that fight, Gokuh's normal power is 250.000. Hence, with Kaio-Ken x4 he becomes 1.000.000 (enough to challenge Freeza in his 2nd stage but not to beat him in his 3rd stage, which is why he gets worried when sensing Freeza's Ki in his 3rd stage), with Kaio-Ken x10 he becomes 2.500.000 and with Kaio-Ken x20 he becomes 5.000.000. It is important to note that the Kaio-Ken technique does not increase a Saiya-jin's power when he is in the state of Super Saiya-jin, since such state is already improving his limits beyond normal, which is exactly what Kaio-Ken does.

   16) WHY DOES THE POWER LEVEL OF PICCOLO, GOKUH AND SOME OTHERS RISE GREATLY WHEN PERFORMING A SPECIAL TECHNIQUE IN THE SAIYA-JIN SAGA?

When Raditz measures the power of Piccolo and Gokuh with his Scouter, he sees that Gokuh has a Ki of 416 and Piccolo a Ki of 408. Why, then, do their power rise to much larger numbers when they perform specific techniques (Kamehameha, Makankosappo)? Because at that specific point in their fighting evolution Gokuh, Piccolo and the others on Earth could attain much larger Ki levels than they normally put out when they call upon their special reserves, which they can only call upon limitedly. We could say that Gokuh's power level at that point was actually 924 (when performing the Kamehameha) and not 416, and that Piccolo's power level was 1300 (when performing the Makankosappo) an not 408, but at the same time we should not forget that they can only call upon additional reserves for a limited period of time and when they reach certain specific stages of concentration of their Ki. This happens during the Saiya-jin Saga only. After that, every warrior manages to call upon all their reserves of Ki unlimitedly, after developing even further the control and concentration of their energy.

      17) WHY CAN GOKUH DETECT KI IN DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS AND HENCE TRANSPORT HIMSELF THERE?

It seems impossible that Gokuh would transport himself to a different dimension because he should not even feel someone's Ki there. Gohan, as well, is able to sense Gokuh's Ki on Earth all the way from the Kaioshin's planet during the Majin Buu Saga, but after the Metamoru-jin teach Gokuh the Shunkan-Idou (which can only be mastered by the Metamoru-jin by their unique physical and psychosomatic characteristics or by someone as bent on training and Ki concentration and sensing as Gokuh), Kaiou, together with the other 3 Kaious, made it possible for Gokuh (and any other person) to detect Ki at a certain point in the Universe and even locate it geographically by having himself, the Kaiou, together with the other 3 Kaious, detect the location of every single being's Ki (except the beings who live in the dimension of the Kaioshin, to whom the Kaious do not have access) automatically and project it to the dimension of the "normal" Universe - the effects of this make it look to Gokuh in his mind like there is a Ki in a specific geographic point in "his" Universe, when in fact that sensing was the sensing of a Ki in another dimension. When Gokuh "feels" the presence of a Ki, believing it is located in a specifc point in "his" Universe (north, south, east, west), it is actually an illusion created automatically by the Kaious, to which Gokuh transports, finding himself instead in another dimension (King Enma's afterlife) - an example of this is Gokuh's transportation to Kaiou's planet with Cell in DBZ Episode 188. Of course, this transportation of a living person required the approval by King Enma and the Kaious to be possible. The same process applied to Gokuh's transportations to the Kaioshin planet, only this time it was Kaioshin who himself copied the idea of Kaiou and projected the same illusion to Gokuh, giving him permission to enter the realm of the Kaioshin planet as well. It should be noted that one can detect Ki at any longitude within the Universe and even parallel dimensions, and the degree to which they can detect Ki at larger and larger distances and ranges will depend on how much they train that capacity.

    18) WHY ARE THERE DIFFERENT RESTRICTIONS TO THE WISHES THE DIFFERENT DRAGONS CAN GRANT?

The Nameks are a special race with special magical abilities. They are not the only ones in the Universe with special abilities (other than high fighting powers), but they are among them. One of the special "magical" things some very gifted Nameks can do is create Dragons and Dragon Balls. The ones we know of that can do is are Saichiourou-sama and Kami. Dende and Muuri did not create Dragons from scratch but they received and/or controlled that power inheriting it from others (Dende from Kami and Muuri from Saichiorou-sama). The wishes one can make to the Dragons (Shenron and Porunga) cannot excede the power of their creators, but we can wish for something that their creators by themselves could not. That is because the process of creating a Dragon and Dragon Balls somehow brings out special, hidden abilities of some Nameks, which they by themselves cannot control or even understand fully. That is to say, the ones who can create Dragons can create them, but they do not understand or completely control the process. Due to the variations in the Nameks' abilities, there are also variations (uncontrolled, unintentional ones) in their Dragons' powers. Dende managed to improve Shenron's power when compared to Kami because he was more gifted than Kami, for example. We could reason that Porunga should be more powerful than Shenron and thus, besides granting 3 wishes instead of 1, should be able to bring to life any number of people with one wish as well, something even Shenron can do. Why can't Porunga do this, then? Because of the variations I explained before. Saichiorou-sama, the creator of Porunga, has different hidden/uncontrolled abilities than Kami or Dende, which result in different restrictions to his Dragon's power when compared to the others' Dragon. Since it is a process that cannot be fully controlled by the creators of Dragons, it is easily accepted that the results are not fully controllable as well. Why can then Kami make his Dragon grant a wish to Gokuh and the others immediately in DB instead of them having to wait the usual 1 year before the Dragon Balls become active again? Because he made a special (and yet again not fully controlled) effort to increase or change the Dragon's power for that special occasion. So, indeed, Nameks are capable of magical deeds that indirectly outperform the capabilities of other, greater deities (namely, bringing back a dead person to life, not directly but through the power of the Dragons they created), although they do not fully understand or control the processes that make them capable of those magical feats.

     19) WHY DO THE KAIOU AND KAIOSHIN SAY THE UNIVERSE IS DIVIDED IN 4 GALAXIES WHEN WE KNOW THAT THERE IS AN IMMENSE NUMBER OF GALAXIES IN THE UNIVERSE?

AND WHY DO WE ONLY SEE ONE SNAKE WAY IF THERE ARE 4 KAIOU PLANETS?

The deities who control the Universe in Dragonball obviously know about the immensity of the Universe and the number of galaxies, but for practical purposes they chose to define the Universe as being divided in 4 parts, the North part, the South part, the East part and the West part. Not only did they chose to divide the Universe in those 4 parts, they actually chose to name each part as a "Galaxy", namely: North Galaxy, South Galaxy, East Galaxy and West Galaxy. The Kaioshin have been in existence and governing the Universe for an immensely long time, and are very, very strong deities who have their own planet in a different dimension, one that not even the Kaiou know where it is or are allowed to. The place that we see in the series that is governed by King Enma and the Kaiou is a yet different dimension, one that some special beings (even some Earthlings, like Baba), like the governors of planets (like Kami on Earth) can access due to their special abilities and powers. The reason why we only see one Snake Way instead of 4 (since there is first the King Enma place and then 4 Kaiou planets with 4 Snake Ways that each lead to each one of them) is because the Kaiou deliberately use their powers to erase the other 3 Snake Ways from the sight of the person that is going to ride the Snake Way that leads to the Kaiou planet they are supposed to go to (if they can).

20) IS WHIS ACTUALLY EVEN STRONGER THAN BILLS?
No. The fact that Whis is said to be stronger than Bills in Special 5 is merely a reference to the fact that Whis is the one who trained Bills to achieve a kind of power that draws on a different, godlike kind of energy, as opposed to the Ki-based energy that all other fighters use. Whis is a skille martial artist and a relatively strong being, but the main merit of his training and of Bills' power usage is the fact that it has a completely different approach to martial arts and energy usage than all other beings are aware of. However, obvisouly Bills' power can be measured and it can be compared and surpassed.
Bills is a living being and has Ki - he merely draws on a different, godlike usage of that Ki.
While it is difficult to estimate Whis power level, contrary to Bills' (700.000.000), and while I won't include him in the power-level list I created in another post in this blog, I would say his actual power-level is either in the same league of the Kaiou-samas (2.000) or the Kaioshin (150.000.000 to 190.000.000).

      21) WHO OR WHAT IS JANENBA?

Janenba has not been in existence ever before the events of DBZ Movie 12. He is born from the explosion of the evil-cleansing machine, when all the evil contained and gathered from cleaning the souls since ever gave rise to him. His power is exactly equal to that of all semi-evil beings whose souls have ever been cleaned through the machine.

      22) DID DR. GERO'S COMPUTER INTEND CELL TO BE ABLE TO PRODUCE CELL JUNIORS IN HIS PERFECT STAGE?

Yes. Everything about Cell's design and abilities in all his stages has been forecast and intentionally designed by the computer Dr. Gero programmed to build Cell.

      23) FROM WHICH TIMELINE DOES THE CELL WE SEE IN DBZ COME FROM?

There are three different timelines created from the moment Trunks first used the time-machine. The first timeline is the original one, where Gokuh is dead and the other warriors have been killed by C-17 and C-18, whose events are depicted in DBZ Special 2. The second timeline is the main timeline of the DBZ series, in which Gokuh does not die of disease, Trunks comes from the first timeline, defeats Freeza, the Androids are absorbed by Cell, who becomes Perfect Cell, Gohan goes SSJ2, Babidi appears, etc.). The Trunks from the first, original timeline is able to go back to his own original timeline (in DBZ Episode 122) and come back 3 years later to the second, alternate timeline again (in DBZ Episode 131) instead of creating yet new alternate timelines., which would create even more confusion. For some time-continuum physical reasons, there is a permanent stable link between these two timelines. After the defeat of Cell, the Trunks of the first original timeline actually goes back yet again to his own future in DBZ Episode 193, suggesting even further that the link I mentioned exists in a stable status. The third timeline is created in the moment Trunks goes back in time for the first time: it is an alternate timeline as well, generated by a physical disruption in the time-continuum, a third alternate reality that was not intended by Bulma or Trunks or anyone, but was generated anyway. In this third timeline, Gokuh is indeed killed by a virus, the Androids appear, Vegeta somehow survives their assault and destroys them and Trunks, many years after, when he is adult, and with his father Vegeta alive, decides to have his mother Bulma create a time-machine to go back in time and prevent anybody from dying and to tell them that Vegeta was capable of destroying the Androids in the future - when he gets on his time-machine, Cell, who had enough years to mature in this timeline and cannot find C-17 and C-18 (because they were killed by Vegeta in this timeline),  kills Trunks and goes back to the second timeline (which is the one we see in the events of DBZ) in larva form. The Cell of the second timeline, still being developed by Dr. Gero's computer, is seen being destroyed by Krillin and Trunks, while the third Cell, from Trunks' original future timeline, where C-17 and C-18 are still alive and every other warrior is dead, tries to kill Trunks and steal his time-machine because the C-17 and C-18 of his time are giving him too much trouble to be absorbed (when in fact Trunks had just killed them both after returning from the past). Instead, Trunks sees Cell approach him, talks to him and kills him in this timeline as well (DBZ Episode 194). In this timeline, the original one, Trunks also killed C-17 and C-18 easily (DBZ Episode 194), due to the fact that he is now much more powerful after the Time Room Chamber training, being a Super Saiya-jin Dai San Dankai.

     24) WHY ARE C-17 AND C-18 STRONGER IN THE NEW TIMELINE THAN IN TRUNKS' ORIGINAL TIMELINE?

AND WHY DOES THE ORIGINAL TRUNKS NOT KNOW ABOUT C-16?

The Androids are stronger in the new timeline than in Trunks' original timeline because of the fact that in the new one Gokuh is still alive and Dr. Gero focuses even more on their energy levels. Since in the original timeline Gokuh died of a virus, Dr. Gero did not find the need to make them as strong as they are in the second timeline. In fact, both Dr. Gero (C-20) and C-19 were the first Androids to surface in Trunks' original timeline as well, he just doesn't know that nor has he ever seen them because he was too young to remember (he was a baby back then). Vegeta and the others destroy C-19 easily and, just like in the second DBZ timeline, Dr. Gero launches C-17 and C-18, who are actually evil in this timeline because Dr Gero had the time to make them so, because he didn't focus as much on their strength, like I explained before. The reason why Trunks doesn't know about C-16 is because C-16 was never created by Dr. Gero in his original timeline, since Gokuh was already dead and Dr. Gero didn't find it necessary to create another strong android (or robot, in this case). After coming back to his original future timeline (DBZ Episode 193), Trunks destroys C-17, C-18, the Cell of his time and then presumably destroys Dr. Gero's laboratory (C-16 never existed in this timeline, as explained before). In the third timeline I talked about in another section, C-16 never existed anyway, because in that timeline Dr. Gero didn't find it necessary to have yet another strong Android because Gokuh was already dead.

     25) ISN'T IT TOO MUCH OF A COINCIDENCE THAT PICCOLO (NAMEK), GOKUH (SAIYA-JIN), AND MAJIN BUU (DEMON) ALL GET SENT TO THE SAME PLANET (EARTH)?

Not really. If you consider the fact that there are not really that many planets that can support life in the Universe - Earth being one of them, and an especially good planet in terms of natural environment - Earth is one of the choices, just like other planets that in the Dragonball Universe have probably received visits and hosted events as dramatic and big as Earth did at some point at least once during their existence in DB (like Pikkon's planet). You could even dismiss Hildegarn as it could be considered a non-existent situation - DBZ Movie 13 - but even if you include it, you are left with only 3 major coincidences: the fact that Piccolo was sent to Earth to escape Namek's natural disaster, the fact that Gokuh was sent to Earth to annihilate it as a Saiya-jin, and the fact that the discovery of the Dragon Balls by the Madoshi in DBZ Movie 13 (Hildegarn) was made exactly at the time of DBZ. The events of DBZ Movie 12 (Janenba) can be easily explained by the fact that the evil-cleansing-machine exploded in part due to the huge amount of evil souls being cleansed after being killed by Majin Buu on Earth. You can also look at the fact that the Majin Buu ball was sent to Earth as a mere insignificant coincidence, since it happened millions of years ago. Additionally, although it is not said so in DBZ Movie 9, Bojack actually came to Earth probably only because he sensed powerful Ki, powerful enough to provide him with a challenge, while at the same time making Earth one more of his planets, perhaps the most beautiful and enjoyable one. Another big coincidence apart from these could be considered to be the fact that the Legendary Super Saiya-jin (Brolly) was born and reached adult stage precisely at the time of DBZ's events, amidst and in between all of the other incredible events in the series. We can also add that the other villains who came to Earth as well did so as a result of the events and developments that happened to the fighters who lived on Earth (Cooler came to get revenge on Gokuh for Freeza; Babidi, Dabla, Kaioshin and Kibito came only because Majin Buu was sealed on Earth millions of years ago and only "now" (in DBZ) the sufficient amount of energy (from Gokuh, Vegeta and Gohan) was detected to be able to revive Majin Buu; Bojack came because Gohan and the others reached a power that got him interested; Freeza and King Cold came to Earth only because Gokuh and the others managed to stand up to him; etc.) We can consider the events of DBZ as a freak occasion in the history of the Dragonball Universe, as we saw a very big list of villains and fighters getting incredibly stronger all the time in a relatively short period of time, virtually one after the other. The major catalysts for this have to be considered to be the Dragon Ball searches (made possible by the Nameks), Gokuh, whose capacity to grow unbelievably stronger and defeat Freeza led to the appearance of the Super Saiya-jin and the destruction of the entire Freeza-King Cold-Cooler interplanetary empire, and Dr. Gero, who set out to create robots and artificial humans so powerful that they could actually fight and win over Super Saiya-jin who killed someone as strong as Freeza, ultimately leading to the appearance of Super Saiya-jin 2 Gohan, who attained a stage that soon attracted the attention of the most powerful beings that exist in the Universe (Dabla, the Kaioshin, Bojack, Majin Buu (indirectly), Janenba (indirectly), etc.). The coincidences are a few ones, yes, but the succession of non-stopping cataclysmic events would be expectable given the number of coincidences and the especially fertile ground that was generated by the influence of Gokuh's existence.

    26) WHY DOES VEGITTO SPLIT INSIDE OF MAJIN BUU'S BODY AFTER THE POTARA RING FUSION, WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE IRREVERSIBLE?

In order to absorb a being into his own being, Majin Buu's system apparently needs to split them again to integrate them individually in Majin Buu. The reason why Vegitto is not immediately split is because he built a Ki barrier that protected him from the magic of Majin Buu's insides, and the reason why Gokuh and Vegeta are able to escape absortion after splitting is the fact that they were conscious - Gohan, Gotenks, Piccolo and the Kaioshins that were absorbed were immediately thrown into a state of unconsciousness after being magically being absorbed by Majin Buu. Vegeta and Gokuh were not because they were protected by the barrier as Vegitto at the moment when the process of making absorbed beings unconscious was triggered by Majin Buu's system when he absorbed Vegitto.

      27) WHY ARE THE 5 MINUTES SO CRITICIZED FOR BEING EXPANDED INTO ALMOST 10 EPISODES?

Because they weren't 5 minutes. Freeza miscalculated that in 5 minutes Namek would explode, while in fact his destruction of the planet's nucleus led to the ultimate explosion of Namek in much more than 5 minutes. Gokuh believes that the 5 minutes calculation is real, though, and he acts (fights) based on that idea, but later on realizes that it was a miscalculation and then ultimately abandons that idea to concentrate himself fully on fighting and defeating Freeza, even if it cost him his own life.

     28) WHY CAN'T KAMI (AND POPO) FIGHT PICCOLO DAIMAO AND PICCOLO AND KILL THEM? WHY CAN'T KAMI COMMIT SUICIDE OR HAVE POPO KILL HIM?

There is no special reason here. Kami doesn't do that or allow Popo to do it simply because he feels it would be a dishonorable way to solve the problem, or a dishonorable way to die for a Kami.

     29) WHY IS THE EARTH IN DRAGONBALL DIFFERENT FROM WHAT IT REALLY IS, AND WHY ARE THERE TALKING ANIMAL-MAN HYBRIDS?

AND WHY IS THE DATE DIFFERENT FROM WHAT IT REALLY IS, CONSIDERING THE TECHNOLOGICAL STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT OF HUMAN SOCIETY?

AND WHY DO ALMOST ALL ALIENS FROM DISTANT PLANETS AND GALAXIES SEEM TO SPEAK THE SAME LANGUAGE?

Dragonball is a fictional Universe in which the Earth maintains all of its real characteristics except the geographic distribution of land and ocean, the date and the development of intelligent life on the planet. We could explain this satisfactorily again by going with the "what if?" scenario, imagining the Earth's development went in a different direction than it actually did (geographically), ending up with one big continent and some groups of large islands instead of 5 main continents, having some species in the natural evolution of life on the planet reach consciousness instead of just humans (explaining the talking, socially-accepted animals-man hybrids), imagining the occurence of a special worldwide significant event whose happening Earthlings set their clocks from (instead of Jesus 2.000 years ago, something else about 1100 years ago), and imagining a situation where the entire Earth speaks the same language (Japanese or something else) as a symbol and product of Earth's political and social universalism and peace, while other races from other planets developed their own languages as intelligent beings but choose to go with the Earth language because they know it (in the case of the Saiya-jin, their language is probably the same as Earth's as it is likely the Saiya-jin and/or the Tsufuru-jin are related to Earthlings biologically; in the case of the deities, it is natural that they know and are capable of speaking fluently and perfectly any language necessary; in the case of Freeza, his army adopted the language of the Saiya-jin and/or Tsufuru-jin because of their large numbers, after studying it; in the case of demons or magicians like Bojack, Babidi, Majin Buu, Dabla, etc., it is not surprising they know any language necessary because they are magical demonic beings, and in Majin Buu's case he has been spawned by Babidi but received knowledge from someone who learned and speaks fluently the Earth language - Babidi).

      30) WHY DOES THE GINYU TOKUSENTAI GET BEATEN BY TENSHINHAN AND THE OTHERS?

Because Kaiou, who asked King Enma to take them to his planet before going to Hell directly, especially rigged his planet with stronger gravity in the exact places where the members of the team were when they were fighting, in order to moralize Tenshinhan, Yamcha and Chaozu and getting them to spar with someone beyond each other without being beaten. The Tokusentai team notices their difficulties in the planet but the fighting takes place so quickly that they don’t have time to plan a strategy or discuss the problem.

      31) WHY DO TENSHINHAN AND THE OTHERS COME BACK STRONGER THAN GOKU FROM TRAINING WITH THE SAME TEACHERS (KAMI AND KAIOU)?

Because both Kami and Kaiou felt that the team was up to the strongest and toughest parts of their respective training, while in the case of Gokuh they didn’t want to push him over his limits. The truth is that after Gokuh beat Piccolo and after the Saiya-jin menace became present over Earth, Kami felt that the best thing would be to have Tenshinhan, Krillin, Yamcha, Chaozu and Yajirobe train in much tougher difficulties than Gokuh did in his 3-year training for Piccolo and the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai. As for the Kaiou training, not only did Kaiou feel he could push the team beyond what he did with Gokuh, they also spent more time training on his planet than Gokuh did.

     32) WHY DOES DR. GERO AND C-19’S SEARCH SYSTEM INDICATE SSJ GOKUH AS BEING BELOW THEIR POWER, WHEN HE IS MUCH STRONGER THAN THEM?

AND WHY DOES C-17 MEASURE C-16’S POWER AS BEING BELOW HIS OWN, WHEN IT IS ACTUALLY HIGHER?

AND WHY IS DR. GERO SO AFRAID OF ACTIVATING C-16?

Because the system invented by Dr. Gero to search and measure energy levels can only measure certain types of energy; it cannot measure the type of energy a Super Saiya-jin produces, only partially, so the figure they come up with when measuring Gokuh’s and Vegeta’s strength as Super Saiya-jin is not entirely accurate (actually, it’s a big miscalculation). Dr. Gero’s invention was useful but he couldn’t know about the SSJ state, so he couldn’t apply such knowledge to his energy-measuring devices. C-16 has two types of “states”, one in which some of his power is concealed (the state he is in when C-17 measures his power), and another one in which his power is fully exposed - additionally, he has a special enormously powerful self-exploding bomb within his body that could destroy most warriors of the series if it went off. Dr. Gero is afraid of activating C-16 because of his enormous power, fearing he would for some reason go beyond his control and destroy him (being even stronger than C-17 and C-18).

33) WHY IS FAT BUU SO PHYSICALLY DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE OTHER FORMS OF BUU?
It's obvious that the introduction of a new concept of major villain by Akira Toriyama by having a fat, childish monster, which was a clear break when compared to Freeza or Cell, eventually generated the feeling among fans - and perhaps, the anime workers as well - that the fat form of Buu was just too likeable as a character to be a major hatable villain. Hence, his evil form was soon introduced and the series' overseers thought of ways to make the original, Kid Buu and all of his variations the true forms of Buu, while his fat form was brought about by absorbing the powerful Dai Kaioshin, who obviously had all the physical characteristics of Fat Buu and had a major impact in how the demon turned out physically, given the strength of his character, personality and overall influence, being the highest of the Kaioshin. The fact that Fat Buu is seen as too likeable a character is also shown and proven by the fact that after the evil form of Majin Buu was defeated, they chose to keep him around and even become a full ally of the Z Fighters.

34) WHY WAS CELL SO HASTILY AND ABRUPTLY INTRODUCED IN THE SERIES AFTER THE Z FIGHTERS' DEFEAT AT THE HANDS OF #17 AND #18?
Like in the case of Fat Buu, both #17 and #18 were considered by the fans and probably bu Akira Toriyama and the rest of the series' designers as too likeable as major villains, and a real reptilian, megalomaniacal villain who absorbs people with his tail until they're physically gone, in a presumably painful process, was introduced, and, as usual in other parts of the series, the plot managed to involve the previous foes - #17 and #18 in a fight with the new, more powerful and menacing enemy, Cell.

35) DID GOHAN LOSE HIS MYSTIC POWER?
I would say no. However, Gohan's fighting spirit, taken into account that he's not a pure Saiya-jin and his environment around him, with his mother's constant nagging, leads him to forget basic aspects of training and fighting, despite his enormous potential. His power level wouldn't increase or decrease if he turned Super Saiya-jin Full Power or Super Saiya-jin 2 at any point after he received the Rou Dai Kaioshin's power-unlocking ceremony; Gohan remains at that stage for the rest of his life and his power won't decrease. He could turn Super Saiya-jin at any moment, however that wouldn't affect his power level, which would remain the same (450.000.000), except for the fact that any transformation into any level of Super Saiya-jin increases the Saiya-jin's aggressiveness and causes strain to the body, which was in fact the main reason Rou Dai Kaioshin wants to get rid of the transformation, as it could have negative implications during a long battle.

36) HOW CAN GOKU BE DEFEATED BY A MERE BEAM LASER IN FUKKATSU NO F?
A fighter, no matter how powerful he might be in his strongest stage, uses Ki to magnify not only his attacks and manipulation of Ki, but also his defenses. That means that someone as strong as Goku by the time of Fukkatsu no F (or much earlier than that, of course) uses manipulation of Ki to make his body thousands of times like a rock. He could, like Vegeta most likely does when he's engaged in battle, apply that process permanently, but apparently Goku's mistake, as pointed by Whis, is that he doesn't. The laser beam directed at his heart, a vital organ, caused him as much damage as it would cause a normal human Goku, as he wasn't applying his Ki manipulation to make his body incredibly tough, just like Krillin managed to hurt Goku when he threw a rock at his head in the 10 day-preparation for the Cell Games - Goku wasn't applying any Ki manipulation to make his body super-tough at that moment as well.

37) WHY DOES DABLA SAY THAT GOKU'S ENERGY IS ENOUGH TO DESTROY A PLANET OR TWO, AND WHY DOES CELL SAY THAT HE HAS GATHERED ENOUGH ENERGY TO DESTROY THE ENTIRE SOLAR SYSTEM?
We all know that the natural world in Dragonball is not the same as it really is in reality, but it seems, judging by Bulma and Mr. Popo's visit to Jupiter, that the number, name and type of planets are the same as they really are. Of course, it takes an immense amount of energy to destroy the entire Solar System when compared to "simply blowing up" the Earth, but in my opinion, taking into account that even Vegeta with a power level of 18.800 managed to blow up a small planet in the Saiya-jin Saga, not only does it depend on the type of attack (for example, directed especially and skillfully at its core) to destroy it, most of the main fighters by the Jinzouningen and Majin Buu sagas, not to mention the Freeza Saga, already possess a level of Ki that allows them to blow up not one, but several planets, regardless of their size. Babidi's energy-measuing device's faults work pretty much like the ones in Dr. Gero's Search System, that is, it locks into a particular type of energy and, as a consequence of that, might miss the entire Ki generated or possessed by a particular fighter.

38) WHY DO OBVIOUSLY MORE POWERFUL ATTACKS CAUSE GREATER DAMAGE TO THE NATURAL SURROUNDINGS THAN OTHER, LESS POWERFUL ATTACKS, AND WHY DO POWER UPS BY SOME CHARACTERS WHO ARE LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF TIMES WEAKER THAN OTHERS CAUSE MORE DISTURBANCE IN THE NATURAL SURROUNDINGS WHEN POWERING UP?

39) WHY CAN BARDOCK, VEGETA, NAPPA AND OTHER SAIYA-JINS APPARENTLY BE ABLE TO STAND IN SPACE AND LIVE?
We see Bardock fighting in space in Special 1, Vegeta and Nappa standing in space in the early Saiya-jin Saga and Goku fighting in space against Beerus in Special 5, not to mention Gohan in Movie 2. It also happens when both Goku and Brolly escape from the destruction of Namek and Planet Vegeta, respectively. It's easier to argue that a fighter of enough ability would be capable of creating an energy-based invisible dome to preserve whatever oxygen there was at the time of its creation, in order to preserve breathable air. None of this applies to other races, who appear to be able to live in the vacuum of space. However, members of other races, like Freeza's race, members of Freeza's army or the Namek-sei-jins, seem to breathe heavy or gasp for air after using an enough amount of their Ki in almost any fight during any and every part of the series, which causes strain to their bodies just like physical effort does, and this can explained by postulating the fact that these and other races also breathe, but have evolved in a different direction and their lungs use another type of air instead of oxygen, or, in most cases, given that all of them, or almost all of them, appear to gasp for air even in space, where there is neither oxygen nor indeed any other possible form of breathable air. The laws of physics, and, as a consequence, the way the species evolved throughout the millennia was done in a separate way from the actual, real world. The species issue also poses the additional problem of seeing animals who talk, think and are fully sentient. The same different theory of evolution applies to this case. However, Toriyama obviously decided, when moving towards a more serious tone to the series in Dragonball Z when compared to Dragonball, to move away from the concept of animal-humans, or sentient evolved animals, except for the ones he had already presented and play a somewhat important part even in Dragonball Z, such as when King Furry appears during the Cell Games Saga.

40) WAS THE ORIGINAL SUPER SAIYA-JIN GOD REALLY AS POWERFUL AS A SUPER SAIYA-JIN 3?
No. I've developed a theory on how much a particular Saiya-jin's power increases after he undergoes the ritual to make him or her a Super Saiya-jin God. The state itself - reddish aura, red air, etc. - is not a transformation beyond Super Saiya-jin 3. If that were so, the Super Saiya-jin God in Planet Vegeta who fought and killed many evil Saiya-jins would have skipped all previous stages of Super Saiya-jin and be one of the most powerful warriors in the history of the Universe. After a Saiya-jin reaches a certain degree of power, the increase in Ki by undergoing the ritual to become a Super Saiya-jin God is not as drastic. That's what happens to Goku and, off-camera, to Vegeta before Fukkatsu no F. The original Super Saiya-jin God had a normal power level for a low-class Saiya-jin at that time, 2.000, and the process granted him a power level of 40.000. In Goku's case, since his maximum when he underwent the process was 450.000.000 (Super Saiya-jin 3), the increase in power is not as drastic and there is no multiplication; his power level as a Super Saiya-jin God is 700.000.000. After he managed to absorb the nuances of the Super Saiya-jin God state and have its power even without being physically in the state, his power doesn't drop at all, although his Ki might become detectable by non-gods again. Vegeta did go through the exact same process at some point between Battle of Gods and Fukkatsu no F, as his power level when training with Whis is the same as Goku's (700.000.000), which leads us to think that at some point also during that period of time Vegeta did indeed reach a maximum Super Saiya-jin power level of 450.000.000, just like Goku, which is only possible if he reached Super Saiya-jin 3, which is perfectly possible and acceptable after 5 years of training.

41) WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SUPER SAIYA-JIN GOD AND SUPER SAIYA-JIN GOD SUPER SAIYA-JIN?
Both Goku and Vegeta have "mastered" the Super Saiya-jin God state by the time of Fukkatsu no F. That is, they are both constantly using the power of their Super Saiya-jin God states even without using the physical transformation itself (700.000.000). However, also during that time, they developed a further state which adds the Super Saiya-jin transformation component to the Super Saiya-jin God concept, which resulted in a "slight" increase in power (from 700.000.000 to 750.000.000), maintaining their inability to mask their Kis to non-gods, and finally the regaining of their Super Saiya-jin-type aggressiveness and fighting spirit, which was probably the main or only reason why they developed this further state. One can wonder what other combinations or further evolvings Goku, Vegeta and - why not? - the others could develop in the future, maybe in Dragonball Super. The potential is almost limitless.

      42) SHOULD WE CONSIDER DRAGONBALL GT?

I prefer to ignore the events of DBGT as they never happened and erase them from the history of Dragonball, but there is one thing from DBGT that I wish to include, which is the stage of Super Saiya-jin 4.

    43) CAN THE MOVIES AND SPECIALS BE INCLUDED IN THE TIMELINE OF THE DB, DBZ AND DBGT SERIES?

Some of them can, most of them can't. Most DB and DBZ movies are events depicted on a "what if?" basis: they never happened but a movie was made anyway to show what would happen if it happened. The Specials are a different case. There are 4 of them for DBZ and 1 for DBGT - 3 of the 4 DBZ ones depict events that happened in the original Dragonball timeline. Let me give you a detailed explanation about each one of the movies, its events and how they relate to the events in the original timeline of the DB, DBZ and DBGT series:

DBZ Movie 1 - This movie can't be included in the original DBZ timeline. This movie imagines that Garlic Jr., who is a demon living on Earth, was aware of the Dragon Balls and acted upon it. The only reason why this movie cannot be included in the DBZ timeline is because when Gokuh goes to meet his friends in the beginning of DBZ, Krillin doesn't know about Gohan being Gokuh's son. If the events in this movie had actually happened, then Krillin shouldn't be surprised in DBZ Episode 2. Garlic Jr., in turn, didn't get his eternal life from the Dragon Balls, but rather from a special evil power he managed to attain.

DBZ Movie 2 - This movie can't be included in the original DBZ timeline. This movie imagines a situation where Gokuh and Piccolo figured out a way to kill Raditz without having Gokuh die, and if Vegeta and Nappa never decided to come to Earth. Since Gokuh is already friends with Piccolo, we have to place this Movie after Raditz, having trained under Piccolo after Piccolo snatched him from Gokuh after seeing his powers against Raditz. The Saiya-jin menace doesn’t go beyond Raditz in this Movie’s situation. Dr. Wheelo and his underling do not possess any special fighting ability, Dr. Wheelo is now merely a very smart brain put in a machine made of a very strong metal, with the ability to detect and measure energy.

DBZ Movie 3 - This movie can't be included in the original DBZ timeline. This movie imagines that Turles, a Saiya-jin who took it upon himself to move away from Planet Vegeta long before Freeza destroyed it, decides to come to Earth to generate a Tree of Might. In the DBZ timeline, Turles did it on another planet instead. This movie imagines that Turles did not find that planet and chose Earth instead. The events depicted in this movie cannot be part of the DBZ timeline because there was no such time in which Gokuh already knew he was a Saiya-jin and was alive on Earth together with the also alive Tenshinhan, Yamcha and Chaozu.

DBZ Movie 4 - This movie can't be included in the original DBZ timeline. This movie imagines that Lord Slug, a special, evil Namek, who goes around in space, decides to come to Earth. Like in Movie 3, in the DBZ timeline Lord Slug found another planet to settle instead. This movie imagines what would happen if he did not find that planet. When this movie "happens", Gokuh has defeated Freeza with his Kaio-Ken x20, imagining Freeza was too careless and did not increase his strength to withstand Gokuh's Kamehameha because of his arrogance - everyone returned to Earth. The reason why this movie has to be after the Freeza Saga but before Gokuh turns Super Saiya-jin is because Kaiou mentions Freeza and Gokuh can't go Super Saiya-jin freely.

DBZ Movie 5 - This movie can't be included in the original DBZ timeline. This movie imagines that Cooler, Freeza's brother, comes to Earth to get revenge on the one who defeated his brother. In the DBZ timeline, Cooler was defeated by Gokuh as a Super Saiya-jin in the 3-year period between the Trunks Saga and the Androids Saga. The reason why this movie cannot be included in the DBZ timeline as it is is because Gokuh is not able to control his Super Saiya-jin state at will yet, while it is known that after Gokuh comes back to Earth in the Trunks Saga he already possesses a full control over the SSJ state and would not have so much trouble defeating Cooler as he did in this movie.

DBZ Movie 6 - This movie can't be included in the original DBZ timeline. This movie imagines that Cooler survived destruction by Gokuh in DBZ Movie 5 and has merged his head with a special planet-absorbing star, setting foot on New Namek. This movie imagines that in the 3-year period between the Trunks Saga and the Androids Saga Gokuh and the others decided to pay a visit to New Namek and found Cooler as Metal Cooler(s) there. The reason why this movie cannot be included in the DBZ timeline is the fact that everybody is surprised to see Vegeta turn Super Saiya-jin against C-19 in DBZ Episode 129, which they shouldn't be if this movie had happened. The reason why Gokuh still uses the Kaio-Ken technique is because he is still not under complete control over the SSJ state, which proves that this movie has to be a "what if?" follow-up of DBZ Movie 5 and not a "what if?" follow-up of the DBZ series timeline.

DBZ Movie 7 - This movie can't be included in the original DBZ timeline. This movie imagines that Piccolo destroys Cell when he first encounters him in DBZ, and that Dr. Gero had built C-13 as an Android capable of absorbing C-14 and C-15 – in the real series, Dr. Gero hasn’t even kept C-13, C-14 or C-15, let alone having him have the ability to fuse with other Androids, whether in the first, second or third timelines. Gokuh builds a Genkidama and absorbs the energy of it again (one can only create and control a Genkidama when one is purely good, since Genki is the pure, good energy beings have, not evil at all – even if Gokuh managed to get Ki from someone who has evil in their hearts to make a Genkidama, that Ki would be part of the good heart such person would have) to make an attack of Ki that destroys C-13.

DBZ Movie 8 - This movie can't be included in the original DBZ timeline. It imagines that the Brolly situation presented itself in the 10-day period of waiting Cell stipulated before the Cell Games. It imagines that Brolly went beyond his father’s control, which he never did in the series’ timeline (although he existed and in fact escaped Planet Vegeta’s destruction, just like Paragas and Turles). The existence of this “what if?” scenario leads to the possibility of DBZ Movies 10 and 11 as well.

DBZ Movie 9 - This movie CAN be included in the original DBZ timeline. The events depicted in this movie take place right after the Cell Games Saga, when Gohan is still a kid and not completely able to control the transformation into the SSJ2 state, and when Gokuh hasn't got with Kaiou to the Dai Kaiou's planet yet and met Pikkon and the other Kaious.

DBZ Movie 10 - This movie can't be included in the original DBZ timeline. This movie imagines that the events of DBZ Movie 8 actually happened during the 10-day period of waiting for the Cell Games. It is a follow-up of that movie and takes place when Gohan is already an adult but only a Super Saiya-jin and not as strong as he really is in the DBZ timeline when he is an adult. Gokuh and everybody else was killed by C-17 and C-18 and only Gohan and Krillin survived. Gohan has met Videl just the same, although Mr. Satan is not as famous as he is in the DBZ timeline because he isn't credited for killing Cell. In this timeline, the movie also imagines that Cell didn't come to a new timeline. The reason why this movie can't be included in the DBZ timeline is because if it did, Gohan as an adult would be able to beat Brolly easily as a Super Saiya-jin 2, and because Brolly never wanted revenge in the first place because DBZ Movie 8 never actually happened.

DBZ Movie 11 - This movie can't be included in the original DBZ timeline. This movie imagines that Babidi never decided to revive Majin Buu and so the World Tournament takes place without incident, which is why it cannot be included in the DBZ timeline. In this movie, Brolly is genetically cloned after having come to Earth before, something which never happened. Brolly existed and was the Legendary Super Saiya-jin, but he never went beyond his father, Paragas', control, nor did Paragas ever sought to use Brolly as his tool to achieve complete domination because a new scientist proved to Paragas that Brolly would escape his control eventually if he pushed him, something that does not happen in DBZ Movie 8.

DBZ Movie 12 - This movie can't be included in the original DBZ timeline. This movie imagines a situation in which Gokuh defeated Majin Buu as an SSJ3 when he actually fights him in DBZ, but the kids learn the Fusion technique anyway and develop Gotenks to SSJ3. Gokuh goes back to the Dead after his 1-day license passes, Vegeta is dead (after actually killing himself to try and destroy Majin Buu in DBZ) and there are so many souls with evil in them that are being sent to King Enma’s place after being killed by Majin Buu that the evil-cleansing machine quickly overflows – without the guy in charge noticing it -, creating Janenba. Since the laws of King Enma’s place become unstable with so much evil energy, the dead come back to life – Vegeta comes back to life in King Enma’s place because that’s where his soul is at that time (being cleaned through the evil-cleansing machine). Contrary to what Vegeta says in this Movie, he did not go to Hell – he might have merely perceived the evil-cleansing process as going through Hell. If Vegeta, or any other semi-evil/semi-good soul that went through cleansing in the evil-cleansing machine was brought back to life, they would be brought back in their purely good form, not in their previous semi-evil/semi-good form. After Janenba is destroyed by Gogeta, all the evil he represented was destroyed as well, and King Enma’s place becomes normal again. The reason why the special planet of Dai Kaiou (where Gokuh fights Pikkon in the Tournament) is also affected by Janenba is because it is close to it, instead of the Kaious’ planets, which are very far from it (you have to go through the entire Snake Ways to get there from King Enma’s place). Additionally, the reason why this Dai Kaiou planet is not seen by Gokuh either when he first dies after the Raditz battle is because King Enma and/or the Kaious made it invisible for him.

DBZ Movie 13 - This movie CAN be included in the original DBZ timeline. It happens right after the Kid Buu Saga, imagining that Hoi found the Dragon Balls on Earth, which he didn’t.

DBZ Special 1 - This Special depicts the events that led to the death of Gokuh's father Bardock and the destruction of Planet Vegeta. Some things should be explained here: the race that the Saiya-jin group led by Bardock attack in the beginning of the special have the ability not to predict the future literally (since that is completely impossible), but the ability to somewhat know what is going to happen based on the extended knowledge they have of the situations (a knowledge not even they themselves can access fully, although they possess it). For example, the race attacked in the beginning of this special have the ability (granted to Bardock by striking him in a special point in his or anybody's body) know that the Saiya-jin will be exterminated because they are aware that Freeza is planning to do so and they know that Gokuh will be sent to Earth because they are aware that that is his destination based on knowledge gained from all the way back to Planet Vegeta. They also know that Piccolo has already been sent to Earth, so there will most likely be a big clash between Gokuh and Piccolo at some point. There is something Bardock sees that is not a prediction, but rather an hallucination: Gokuh confronting Freeza. Not even the race that transmitted this knowledge to him could know this based on their knowledge of the situations. It should also be noted that Bardock does not possess the knowledge of the situations himself, he merely receives the same images and predictions the original race received - the latter were the ones who actually possessed the knowledge of the situations. This is exactly the same thing that happens to Baba: she does not predict the future, she merely has an extended (and in this case "magical") knowledge of the situations and can thus project images of potential future events based on that knowledge, which she herself cannot fully control or understand, because it is magical. The reason why she has this knowledge is because she is a very special Earthling.

DBZ Special 2 - This Special depicts the events of the original Trunks' timeline, the future in which Gokuh is killed by a heart virus and every other warrior is killed by the less-powerful but evil C-17 and C-18, except Gohan and Trunks. It ends with Trunks going back in time, just to arrive in front of Freeza and King Cold in the second DBZ timeline, the one we follow in the series. It is unknown where Trunks got the sword from, but it was probably made by her mother Bulma combining specific elements to scientifically form a sword capable of cutting through extremely powerful and resistent structures (to fight the Androids).

DBZ Special 3 - This Special takes place two years after the Kid Buu Saga. In DBZ Episode 288, when Bulma says it has been 5 years before she met Gokuh last time, it is untrue: it is actually 3, because the last time was in this Special and not right after defeating Kid Buu. The two aliens that come to Earth in search for the Vegeta's brother Tarble are Freeza's special henchmen who had a power close to that of the Ginyu Tokusentai. They are twin brothers who developed the ability to fuse together and form a more powerful being. Tarble is Vegeta's younger brother. Despite his noble heritage, he has a very low fighting level for someone of his blood and does not show any of the Saiya-jin characteristics in terms of fighting: a lot of power, aggressiveness, cold-heartedness. It is likely that all of King Vegeta's best characteristics went all to Vegeta and Tarble is exactly the opposite. The reason why Vegeta or any other Saiya-jin refers to him in the DBZ series is because nobody considers him to be a significant Saiya-jin or fighter, although he is one of the few surviving Saiya-jin, adding to the number of Saiya-jin who were not destroyed by Freeza. Freeza himself was probably unaware of Tarble's existence, since King Vegeta sent him away to another planet when he was still very young. Having seen that Tarble was not strong, King Vegeta chose to send him away and never see him again, fearing he would be a disgrace to the family, instead of just killing him - he didn't kill him probably only because he was of his own blood, his own son. Vegeta never cared much for Tarble either throughout his life, so much so that he doesn't mention his existence to anyone in the entire series until now. Tarble was living with his alien wife in the planet his father sent him away to, but he was tracked down by Abo and Kado, who just wandered through space trying to get into fights and destroy planets after Freeza died. They eventually found Tarble and recognized him as a Saiya-jin, although not being aware of the fact that he was actually Vegeta's brother. Tarble knows Freeza's power in his first form is about 500.000 (530.000), so he thinks that's the extent of Freeza's Ki, measuring Abo and Kado (and Abokado's)'s strength as being close to that of the Ginyu Tokusentai members back in the old days and now closer to that of Freeza (530.000) in their fused, unified form. Therefore, they prove to be no match for any Super Saiya-jin, whose power cannot be any lower than 12.000.000.

DBZ Special 4 - This is the only Special that works the way most Movies do: on a "what if?" basis. This Special imagines what would happen if just before Bardock was hit by Freeza's destructive attack on him and Planet Vegeta, Bardock were sent to the past by a wormhole that existed right next to Planet Vegeta. In the Special, Bardock is sent to the past and the place he is sent to is the same place where he is at the moment of time-travel (Planet Vegeta/Plant). In this past, which does not actually occur (remember, it is a "what if?" situation), Bardock meets the species that originally inhabited Planet Plant (later named Planet Vegeta) before the Tsufuru-jin and the Saiya-jin came to that planet. In the original timeline, this planet was not attacked by Chilled's men either. Even that is a "what if?". In the original timeline, this planet was left alone and untouched by Chilled, Bardock did not go there and the original race was living peacefully until the Tsufuru-jin offered to exchange their own planet with theirs, for some reason. Chilled is not as strong as King Cold or Freeza, but he is obviously much more powerful than most beings in the Universe. Bardock, as a normal but strong Saiya-jin, and having achieved a level of anger, distress and desperation above the limits, reaches the Super Saiya-jin state and easily takes care of Chilled. This is not, though, the origin of the legend of the Legendary Super Saiya-jin, nor is it the source of Freeza's fear of the Saiya-jin. It wouldn't even be possible, since the events we see in the Freeza Saga are not influenced by the events in this Special, because it never actually happened.

DBZ Special 5/Movie 14 - This Special, which is not really a Special but an actual feature film following the 13 Dragonball Z feature films (Movies) - hence the 14th Movie - takes place 3 years after the events of Tarble in DBZ Special 3 and 5 years after the defeat of Majin Buu. It also occurs 5 years before the last (27th) Tenkaichi Budokai, in which Gokuh meets Uub and leaves with the latter, ending the Dragonball Z series. In this special, Bulma holds a party for her birthday, which is probably the occasion to which she refers when she mentions in DBZ Episode 288 that it's been 5 years since she saw Gokuh and his family. In this Special/Movie, Bills, the God of Destruction and a being stronger than Majin Buu in any of his forms, and the strongest being in the Universe ever apart from Gogeta in DBZ Movie 12 and Vegitto in the DBZ Fusion Saga, fights Gokuh (SSJ2 and SSJ3) and beats him with ease, along with the other Z Warriors (Majin Buu, C-18, Vegeta (SSJ2 and SSJ3), Gotenks, Gohan (turning SSJ2 but with the power of his so-called "Mystic" form), Piccolo and Tenshinhan. The only way found to beat Bills in this Special/Movie and keep him from destroying the Earth is done so by Gokuh, who achieves yet another special stage of the Saiya-jin race: Super Saiya-jin God. This form is achieved in a somewhat similar way to Super Saiya-jin 4, but it is not the same, although the power would be probably equivalent. Super Saiya-jin 4 doesn't exist, and neither do any of the events of Dragonball GT. This movie features the real ultra-villain with the most power in the Universe in the entirety of the series apart from Gogeta, Vegitto and, during the Special/Movie itself, Super Saiya-jin God Gokuh. It also features the new Super Saiya-jin God form. I still choose to call this film a Special but in fact it is a Movie, it is canon and it fits with the timeline of the series (something which, among Movies and Specials, only Movie 1, Movie 9, Movie 13, Special 1, Special 2 and Special 3 can do). It also definitely cancels out Dragonball GT completely and finally (along with every single one of its events) and is the culmination of the process of rehabilitation of Dragonball Z, opening the possibility of a new series being made, set right after the defeat of Majin Buu, Hildegarn, Abokado and Bills, which basically make up the end of Dragonball Z.

DBZ OVA – This OVA cannot be included in the series’ timeline. This is a “what if?” scenario whose events would take place in the 10-day period of waiting Cell stipulated before the Cell Games. Nothing special requires explaining here, except the fact that the Tsufuru-jin scientist who wants to get revenge on the Saiya-jin brings a much weaker duplicate of the most evil and powerful villains he knows in the Universe (Lord Slug, Cooler, Freeza and Turles – their appearances, even as clones/duplicates, is in no way related to the DBZ Movies or DBZ Episodes in which they appear, so Gokuh and the others are actually unfamiliar with Cooler, Turles and Lord Slug in this OVA – Gohan figures the whistling thing right then and there, in the OVA). This OVA imagines a scenario where this Tsufuru-jin scientist would actively seek revenge on the Saiya-jin, which is something that didn’t happen – in the series’ timeline, there aren’t probably even any Tsufuru-jin left alive or any Tsufuru-jin hatred lurking around, which makes this OVA impossible/non-existent as well as the Baby Saga in DBGT (we can ignore DBGT altogether, actually).

DBGT Special - This Special takes place 100 years after the ending of DBGT. There is nothing that requires explaining here. Of course Gokuh Jr. would not need to transform into Super Saiya-jin in order to defeat his adversary in this Special, but he does anyway.
